Kindle book reviews are one of the most powerful marketing tools in your self-publisher arsenal. Buy why is it necessary to get book reviews in the first place?

Well first of all, it’s a given that having a powerful description and professional cover design are important factors for getting sales (and you should not ignore these areas); but what makes or breaks your book sales are definitely readers reviews. The first thing a reader will look for before even considering buying your book is how many reviews you have and how positive they are.

The reality is, readers are actually able to overlook shortcomings in the cover and description if the reviews are good enough.

So, how do you get real book reviews from real readers?

First you have to look at each potential reviewer and his or her reviewing style. Are their reviews informative? What books are they usually reviewing? Are the majority of their reviews positive or negative, or an equal balance of both? You need to find reviewers that match your needs and have experience reviewing books in your niche.

After doing your research and finding a reviewer, the next step is to initiate contact with your potential reviewer. Tell them about your book. Be sure to include the page count, genre, a summary and finally a link to your website. Be sure to only write in a professional style with good grammar when contacting a reviewer.

You can send them a copy of your book in PDF format via email or encourage them to download it on a free day (that’s the best method). Each method has it’s pros and cons. For example, if they write a review on Amazon and they didn’t actually download the book from there, it doesn’t count as a verified review on the Amazon site.

Now here is a list of our preferred Kindle book reviews sites.

1. The Amazon’s Top Reviewers List

A great way to find reviewers is to browser through Amazon’s Top Reviewers list, which you can access at http://www.amazon/review/top-reviewers.

One thing to note: all Top Reviewers have a little badge near their account names that will tell you their rankings. For example, there is the “Top 500 Reviewer” badge. That’s the kind of reviewers you should seek on Amazon’s Top Reviewers list (ideally). A good review from a top reviewer is that kind of ‘golden’ stamp of approval that can vastly improve your sales.

2. GoodReads

Goodreads.com is one of the biggest website for book lovers on the internet. There are about 20 million visitors every month here, which makes it an excellent place to search for reviewers.

The best way to find reviewers on GoodReads.com is to look for best-selling books through Amazon in your niche. Then get in touch with people at GoodReads.com that have left reviews for those books in your niche.

3. LibraryThing

You can start finding reviewers at LibraryThing.com by signing up as an author and then doing a “member giveaway.” This is when you give your book away for free to members. You should gently, but not forcibly, ask anyone who downloads your book to leave a review on Amazon. Many will do this for you even if you don’t request it, so don’t impose reviews as this can turn off a lot of potential reviewers.

Automating Kindle Book Reviews

Applying these tips and using these Kindle book reviews sites will certainly get you more reviews, and in all likelihood, increase your sales as well. The problem is that many of these tactics can be time-consuming.

That’s the problem I came across when I needed to get more reviews for my Kindle books. Finding reviewers manually got very time consuming especially after my second book went out, so I took some time out and came up with my own automated solution.

Publisher’s Review Accelerator is a brand-new software which finds targeted reviewers in minutes, accomplishing a task that used to take hours and simplifying it to its core.
